Hovis, male Patterdale, DOB 2011
Hovis, Patterdale, DOB 2011 – Gatwick, West Sussex
Homing Requirements: Hovis is a 'wired terrier' : born to work and a danger to himself with reference to living in built up areas as he could disappear if off lead and go to ground or easily get run over if he escapes: His owners would need to put his ultimate safety foremost in his management outside and to ensure he can't get out of the garden or through gates/doors left open. Hovis gets excited seeing other dogs and if rushed or managed by inexperienced persons so he should either be muzzled or use of halti acting as semi muzzle is best until he learns to settle around dog encounters. We do not know if Hovis has lived in a home before. Only pet home.
His Story: Hovis was found stray and was being put to sleep unless a Terrierrescue place could be offered to assure his safe management. Hovis is now neutered, chipped and vax'd. Hovis is in boarding kennels near Gatwick, West Sussex.
Advert: Hovis is definitely wholemeal goodness! He is a loving friendly chap but as his pictures portray he is 'wired' with intensity, determination and purpose. He will relax at home and delight in meeting people but with his terrier excitement. There isn't anything 'nippy' about him but best not to live with very young children but with supervision he would manage with visiting children.
Hovis is a dark brown Fell terrier, a 'Patterdale' born to run the Fells in the Lake District locating foxes down crags and in their dens. Hovis is the real McCoy and will delight his terrier owners who will assure him safe passage through life. He will need a terrier experienced family who are ready for a young mischievous terrier with heaps of character and a loving nature.
Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.
