He could be a Mal x Wolf, I was googling Mal/wolf crosses... they can look alot like that. It'd be likely if the dog was here... Alot of Wolf x dogs here.

Looks like a wolf hybrid to me personally. Certainly more "wolfy" than any "wolfy" type being bred as breeds!

could be a wolf cross..but not a simple mal cross wolf...far too 'doggy' in markings defo not a hc imo

It could be a Tamaskan a Husky type breed which was imported to the UK and US from Finland in the 1980's where it was mixed with the Siberian Husky, the Alaskan Malamute and a small amount of German Shepherd to create the present day dog.

shhhhhs dont say that name! Its like harry potter and a certain someone with that name.

Also thats incorrect the breed was started in the UK they then left and moved to finland and the US. But thats all i'll say . . .
