**PLEASE spare a thought this christmas**

I just wanted to post this as over the last week or so it has really been getting to me.

Im not sure if any of you are affected by the NSPCC adverts but as someone who was abused as a child, they really get to me

i was playing with the kids yesterday and reading books about santa coming, when the NSPCC advert came on and i had a sudden realiseation(SP?)
Although our children are loved very much and we have a pretty tree and stockings hung by the fire, we believe in santa just to make them smile, we shower them with love and gifts and let them know we care.

There are so many children in the world today who dont get to celebrate christmas, who get thrown across the room if they mention santa or a christmas tree children who long to be loved and long for the torture to go away, these poor babies deserve so much more and i just wanted to say, please this christmas spare a thought for these babies and offer a prayer that one day they too will enjoy a happy and loving christmas

im sorry to put a downer on the festive season, but every time i see the adverts i cant help but cry, ive been there, ive been that child and its really not nice, its a living nightmare each and every day, if i could bring them all to my home for christmas and give them the chance to believe in santa i would but i cant so instead i will say a prayer that their christmas hurt and pain free atleast

thankyou x x x x

I can relate to a lot of what you have written here

I also had an abusive childhood and it really takes it's toll.

I haven't seen this years adverts but have seen them in the past.
I understand the triggers of seeing the suffering (your post has me in tears

Have you had any help in dealing with it?

PM me if you want to.

I will remember the children in my prayers and include you too :smt049 :smt049

Although my childhood was fine these adverts always upset me too. They give me the shivers, it is terrible what they have to go through, and what some of you have been through
I will be thinking of alll the children who can't have a happy christmas. I hope they can some day.

Awww, thanks pet, I wonder does a lot of things get you tearful on the telly?
Does me

It does make us resolute to make a difference for our kids and I do think that I have succeeded in that

BTW, what I've read your Mum reminds me of mine

So hugs to you and bless your heart for caring :smt049
