Inflamed Whisker Follicle?

Hi there,

Has anyone got any experience of dogs with inflammation around a whisker follicle? It's come up in a red, raised lump, although it doesn't seem to be causing any discomfort, not even when touched?

Cheers.

If it is folliculitis you will find a lot of information if you Google - folliculitis+dog

My vet book says mild cases of folliculitis should be treated as for acne. Deep folliculitis requires vigorous and systemic therapy (medicated baths & antibiotics).
