Diesel estate recommendations (to replace OH's beloved T4)

The OH has finally admitted that the time may be right to sell our current car. We have a Volvo V40 T4 (Poor boy is gutted!) I think we would get around £500 ish for her ( V reg, quite high miles, but FSH, and in quite good condition)

We need an estate (3 dogs and a baby!), OH drives a lot for work (30ish miles per day) so we are thinking that diesel would probably be a better move for us) our budget is around 2k

What would you recommend?

Personally Id recommend a ford focus estate. Both me and OH have 1 each. Mine is a 2005 petrol, OHs is a 2007 diesel, which does much better mpg thn mine.
He gets easily 60mpg.
Very roomy, easy to drive, cheap to insure etc
