(Part3) Get a quote from Halifax Pet Insurance, and add it to this thread :)

Previouisly we had a similar thread on More Than pet insurance, and another for Direct Line, where we wondered how the quotes would vary from person to person / breed/area etc, this time we can try:

www.Halifax Pet Insurance.co.uk

(When I put my tel number in I just made one up as I didn't want any phone calls 07779123456 )

Unfortunately it wouldn't quote me online as I have made a claim with Rocky - but you guys are more than welcome to try it!

I was quoted £14.15 per month with Direct Line although I had to put Rockys breed as cross breed as they didnt have his breed in there and More than quoted me £9.34 !!
(Rocky is a Presa and will be 3 in November)

If you go through the quote let us know what you were quoted Might be handy to mention the age and breed of your dog too along with what More than and Direct Line quoted you too.

18 Month GSD Bitch

HALIFAX PET INSURANCE - ANNUAL PREMIUM: £172.45*

HALIFAX PET INSURANCE eXtra - ANNUAL PREMIUM: £299.06*

More Than Quote Comparison

£152.88 Per Annum
£12.74 Per Month

So Halifax, as you can see, is a tad more expensive, but I haven't fully compared the two in terms of what is actually paid for and what isn't. (Along with how much per incident, etc.) At first glance, I believe the Halifax is better in that respect.

Male, 16 month old, Northern Inuit - £14.50 for basic or £25.15 for the extra (advanced). More Than quoted £9.34 and Direct Line Quoted £18.30 (for the advanced).

Female, 12 month old, Northern Inuit - £14.50 or £25.15 (advanced). More Than Quoted £9.34 and Direct Line quoted £18.34 (for the advanced).

If I do a joint claim its £13.10 each or £22.69 each for the advanced, joint claim with Direct Line came to £25.47 in total working out at £12.65 each.

HALIFAX FOR PELLOW BORZOI D.O/B/04.01.05 Extra Policy wth £50 excess per condition per year is £19.99
this is more expensive than More than which was £10.19 for both Pellow and the same for Rye d.o.b.02.11.03 Borzoi and Direct Line which worked out at £35.14 in total for both dogs. Ar present I am with M & S and for both bogs I pay £20.35 in total per month with no excess, but this may change when I go to renew next summer. From that M & S is the better option for me at present.

I note that The Halifax is also underwritten by AXA the same as M & S.

OMG they wouldn't give me an on-line quotation because I put that Benji had had Sarcoptes They did say that they wouldn't cover this and was that ok and I clicked yes and then it came up and said that I couldn't have an online quotation and had to phone a number - needless to say I won't be bothering
