Gifts For Godparents

Me again

Do you give the Godparents of your child a gift and if so, do you have any suggestions?

We have four Godparents - one male, three female.

No, they get a little card with the childs details on to remind them of their duties though. This is given from the church. it is the godparents who bring the pressies!!!

Yep, I would go with that. I am Godparent to 4 of my nieces and nephews and have never had a present, nor would I expect one.
It is an honour to be asked, so I would not expect a gift too.
I also did not buy anything for the Godparents to my son.

The photo idea sounds nice, but that is something you can do from time to time over the years. I quite often send photos of my son to his Godparents at special times, ie nursery and school photos, Xmas, birthday etc.

I'm with Fudgeley & RRMum i'm a god parent 3 times over & have never expected or been given a gift.

I still however have the card I was given after the service with the childs details on it which I've kept.

Don't feel obliged to give a gift but if you really wish to I think a photo of the godparent with the child on the day of the christening would be a lovely thing to receive later (after all the day is more about the little one )

N xx

No. I've been given the honour of being Godmother to my friend's little boy and I'm not expecting any gifts. To my knowledge, it's not 'the done thing'. I will be getting a little something for Caleb (my Godson) though.
