Alaskan Malamute And Siberian Husky Comparison
January 8th, 2009 admin
Alaskan Malamute or Siberian Husky? I think to buy any of these dogs. I live with my only daughter, 16, and myself. I work pretty long days away from being an animal, starting at 12:30 arriving at 18:00. My daughter attends normal school hours, 09:00-15:15. She walks to the house that is over 20 minutes and then stay in the house to be able to take care of the dogs, either indoor activities or go for walks. We live in a house with three bedrooms, a room is empty and is very broad, the whole house is great. However, the front and gardens back are small in comparison, but the ideal nearby fields. We also have a british short hair kitten. I've never had a dog before, and nobody in my family either, and theres no experience. I would be grateful if you could help me, because these two dogs are dogs always have my girls Drempt. Thank you.
The way you describe your situation, you should not get all the breeds. OR ANY North race for this question. Do not get me wrong, the Siberian Husky is a large breed of dog, and I would not have anything, but ask yourself, why do you want a Husky? Because of a couple of movies maybe? It seems that if you have done enough homework race. These are not "starter" dogs by any stretch of the imagination. They require a very experienced owner! Huskies are a special breed which certainly is not for everyone. Yes, they are beautiful. Everyone loves them until they find one and how much work they really are. Then they find themselves in shelters or worse through no fault of their own. They have many good points and bad. Some good points: 1. They love all men of all ages. 2. They love company. 3. They are extremely intelligent. 4. They are easygoing and forgiving. 5. They own with little or no "doggy" smell. Some people are allergic to other breeds can live with Huskies. 6. They are generally calm. They rarely bark except in play, but "talk" or howl like their wolf ancestors for no reason. 7. They do not need much food. (Get a good fuel) 8. They are honest. Their body language and voice can be taken at face value 9. They are not picky eaters and eating almost everything that does eat first. But they require a good diet. (See No. 6 below) 10. They usually get adjusted with other canine good, but they face a challenge if offered. Some negative points: 1. They love people …. no people. It is sometimes seen as a lack of loyalty. 2. I do not think there is a type of dog that could be friendlier than a Husky. A Husky may alert you by his actions (running a door or window etc.) but it is not a watchdog by an effort if the imagination. Instead, he will invite the evil within and show him where the good stuff. And then help to create! In the breeding and I doubt you can train them otherwise. Even if you abuse (we have several that were very abused) they do not get to say … they are just a bit away from you. It is possible that they may (or not) defend yourself against an attacker (more likely with an animal attacker). It may very well have a deterrent to someone looking to bad things …. a wolf "hungry-looking" dog looking back at them through the window …. 3. They have a strong desire to run. This was high in the course of several hundreds of generations. It can not be formed from them in a few months of obedience classes. They must be kept in a secure area. And taken in open areas on a leash. They are Escape Artists, like a hairy Houdini. They have been known to jump or climb over 6 feet fences. If they can not go on it, they will go below. 4. They are extremely intelligent and mischievous. You have to be smarter than they are to stay before them. Do not laugh. It is true, they are smarter than most people. 5. They are too strong and independent wanted to do through obedience training. (See # 4 above). They know and understand the command, but if they do not see the point of execution, they will not. 6. They are very enthusiastic and efficient hunter / killers. 7. They must be kept busy. A BORED HUSKY Husky is a destructive! (See No. 10 below about) 8. They shed. A LOT! All year. Then twice a year or more, they will "blow" their coats. This takes shedding to a whole new level. 9. They dig …. A LOT! You can rent your garden to NASA to train astronauts. 10. They play hard! Very tough. And sometimes they can draw blood. But it is still play. 11. They need company, either human or canine, and will be miserable without it. Although they can survive outdoors they really need to be within their "pack" … …. YOU! 12. They can live 12-14 years. Maybe more. This is not a bad thing. But can you live with a child 2 years so long? That's what it's like with a Husky in your life. 13. By propagating evil, they may be prone to hypothyroidism displaysia hip, both juvenile and adult onset cataracts, Zinc deficiency disorders, hypothyroidism and other health problems when it is not great. They may also have separation anxiety which can trigger the same destructive behavior. Another When do your homework! Know what you're getting. If you can not meet the challenge unfortunately it will be the Husky that pays the price. If you decide that you can meet the challenge, go through a rescue group. Do not go to a pet store or backyard breeder.
