Yes, Wolfie, I wondered where you were with your boy being ill!!! He says thanks for the cuddle to his cybermum, and thanks to the gorgeous Shaan (swoon, swoon) for mine!!

Thanks Shaza. I've seen the vet, I popped in there to get some more Rimadyls coz you can bet your bottom dollar if he doesn't have one tonight, I expect he'll be back to square one and she told me to call in for more as a couple of days wouldn't have been enough that she gave me. Anyways, I told her he's improved but he's still not right, and she nodded as if she knew something I don't!!! I couldn't persue it because they'd dragged her out of operating to see me, which was really good of her I think! She told me to bring him back this Thursday to see her???!!! He's done normal poo's today, he's quite bright, but that breathing still isn't quite right, it's sort of laboured but not fast like it was. I really don't know, but one thing I do know is, I know my dogs, and this one isn't quite right. So Thursday will be the day and if his temperature is normal he must be ok I would have thought? Maybe she's got some more blood results coming through by then? I know I'm a worrier, but I wouldn't be worried if he was acting normally if you know what I mean, and I'm sure you're all the same when the dogs are acting strangely. Hey ho,just have to play the waiting game yet again with him. Thanks all.x

Just scanned this thread, as I have been away for a week. I do hope Georgie is okay Helen. Fingers, paws and everything else crossed.

It's so hard isn't it to let the vet. know what you know when there's no obvious symptoms for them to work on.

When our two are excited their breathing rate increases dramatically, and Bara has a 'throaty' type sound. In the Newfie club this is known about and is down to something in the throat which can be operated on but needs a 'soft tissue' specialist however.

With Georgie I'm certain you would have noticed this from a very young age so it's unlikely to be the same thing. Just hoping Thu. visit will help to sort this out. Thinking of you both and sending cyber hugs

Thanks everyone. Well, there's been a huge improvement since last night when he came racing in from the garden and bounded up the steps, I couldn't believe it, such a sudden change!!! I'm seriously thinking the vet is right in that he has a middle ear infection and the ab's have started doing their job! I'm still taking him back on Thursday when she'll probably have a look inside that right ear again and see if there's any change. Mind you, she said the canal wasn't inflamed or infected, but she couldn't see round the corner, but that's what her gut instinct told her was wrong with him and he was hanging his head sometimes to one side.

Just going to take him out again on a lead walk up the road, coz he likes that, it makes a change from going in the fields

Thanks all, I think I've got my Georgieboy back now!

Great news H! Funny how they sometimes prefer a lead walk isn't it? Different smells etc!
