I'm so sorry Kirsty.

Moss was a wonderful dog and such a character.

He had a fantastic life with you and I know he was a very happy lad.

I can imagine how you're feeling just now. The pain will ease in time, but until then, you know we're all here for you if you need us.

My last cavalier had congestive heart failure, he was 8yrs when it was diagnosed, this is a condition which a lot of cavaliers get. My Ben was put on vetmedin and frusimide and did very well. He did have 3 strokes as well which he got through with medication. The vetmedin dose was doubled and he went on for over 2yrs with this condition. I think you have to stay positive and let your dog go at his own pace, if he wants a walk take him, he will know what he can do. Vetmedin is a wonderful drug and hopefully will keep your dog going for a long while to come.
Best wishes to you.

Sylvia

Thank you to everyone for your kind words.

I am in pieces really tbh I am very up and down. I can think I am okay one minute and then be absolutely sobbing my heart out the next.

The most difficult thing is to know that Moss and I should have spent another ten years at least together, and we have been so cruelly robbed of that time. I can't imagine my life without him in it, and everywhere holds memories of him for me.

Life really sucks sometimes
