I know several who test that I don't consider good breeders.
Especially in BC's!

BTW---I have one health tested dog and he has had more health problems (and other problems)than any of the others put together! He came from a good breeder and I bought him for his colour.

ahh but where have i said every breeder that tests must be a good one, all i have said is those that dont test defo are not an ethical breeder! Of course there is so much more to breeding than just testing dogs, buts its the way forward and anyone that wont or cant be bothered to test in my eyes is not thinking about there dogs/pups or breeds welfare.

You can 'wow' all you like, if I wanted a specific colour and could only get it from someone I considered to be a bad breeder I would still have it. It isn't the only thing I would look at but its an important one for me.

BTW---breed standards wouldn't bother me at all, in fact sub standard might well be a better option in some breeds!

And thats why people will continue to breed "rare" colours because there is always someone willing to over look the ethics of the breeder and pay the price and ignore all the rest!!

Nope---not ignore all the rest. Be selective.

When circumstances (the death of my beloved Snorri-dog) brought a new pup closer, I didn't give a toss what colour HE was, I just wanted the hole in my heart plugged. The fact that Thorgeir is a merle is just a marvellous accident! Mind you, I might have been prepared to pay a teensy bit extra if he had been Hunting Stewart tartan!
