Why on earth are you asking people to sign a petition which was put up on July 10th 2012 and to date some 4 years later has only manage to get 143 signatures?

Please do your part to end or at least heavily regulate this unnecessary dog torture.
One friend lost a dog when it ate poisoned bait put down by a gamekeeper, shall we have a petition to stop owners walking dogs.

Another friend had a Lab which jumped into a pond and cut its stomach open on barbed wire, shall we start a petition to stop dogs running free.

I used to show dogs, some of those who stayed behind made a big fuss because they knew others were going and they were not . They loved the whole outing.

Agility gives dogs the opportunity to exercise their bodies and brains at the same time , it is ideal form of sport for dogs.

The most laughable thing here is this thread was started by someone who advocates torturing dogs with the use of e collar the device used by those who haven't the necessary experience and expertise to train a dog using positive reward based training.

She's only posted this to get at Crysania again. She's a troll nothing else. I don't even believe she owns dogs. This must be brilliant for her, bet it's the longest she's ever been on a forum without getting banned for life.

Where is your proof?

Are the authorities there that lax that they would not intervene if a pet food product contained 'anti-freeze'?

This claim seems pretty absurd to me.

The administering of propylene glycol to dogs or cats would result in kidney failure - rapidly followed by death.
This post is a load of b*llocks!

This is what goes into Purina

NICKY ANN

I am sending your post to Purina who no doubt will do an internet search to trace you and may well take legal action against you if your statement is not correct.

Remember every computer has an IP address which is linked individually to each and every computer. So tracing only takes a very short time even if going through several servers

Well if your gamekeepers are putting down poison that will indiscriminately kill animals, I am really glad to be living in the civilized USA where forest and fish and wildlife rangers do not do such ignorant things. I really think that you might want to check your source of this info.

As for labs, jumping into water this way, this is the owner of the labs fault, because this is not natural dog behavior, it's what foolish people teach their dogs to do so that they can be the jumping champion. German Shorthairs that routinely swim know that the bottom is usually covered with tree limbs and the like, at any rate an owner should not allow their dog to do this ever.

It is true that at least at agility contest these dogs are out of their crates and since any exercise is better than none the dogs are better off. So you ever seen an English Pointer do agility, this dog is really impressive

And for shock collars, I have never used one on my dogs, but the beepers and vibrators work well, how about yours?

With its sweet and loving disposition, combined with silky fur and elegantly droopy ears, the Cavalier King Charles spaniel is a popular breed—with families paying hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars per puppy. Unfortunately, though, it is almost certain that their pet will also come with genetic disorders.

By age five, for example, half of all Cavaliers will develop mitral valve disease, a serious heart condition that leaves the dogs susceptible to premature death. By the same age, up to 70 percent will suffer from canine syringomyelia, a debilitating neurological disorder in which the brain is too large for the skull, causing severe pain in the neck and shoulders, along with damage to parts of the dog’s spinal cord. And although Cavaliers may be a particularly obvious case of purebreds with problems, they aren’t alone. Most purebred dogs today are at a high risk for numerous inherited diseases. Why did this happen—and what can be done about it?

Why is this allowed to continue, and now that we know about the ill effects of inbreeding why does CRUFTS allow inbred dogs to compete?
