I've owned one or two like her - the friendlier the dog is the more people who get to love them and the more people who mourn them (And sadly the more people who keep asking about them even years after - which always had me in fresh floods of tears)

The price we pay for loving our dogs is the heartbreak when we lose them.

Yes indeed, some are extremely loyal, and some dogs really take on human characteristics that are uncanny. That was Belle, through and through. You nailed it, (flood of tears)
