So sorry about your dog. We too lost a dog in that way when the paper girl left the gate open and he got out into the road. Our thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Don't blame yourself or even the repair man. It won't change what's happened and it'll just make you feel worse. It's one of those nightmare situations that you just can't plan for. I have no doubt that you'll be turning it over and over in your head, but accidents do happen and there is no way you could have forseen this.
