Out of curiosity, do you have any children of your own?

Your profile only states that you are female, with no other information, not even what type of dog you own - I have to say, I find this rather odd.....
good point, ..............

honestly like sams situtation the police cant act unless a threat has been carried out, as a parent in jackies situtation seeing her daughter going through so much and nothing being done to deal with it, i would do what ever i had to to protect my daughter.
i could end up in court with a gbh case and most dont get passed magistrates, who can give a max of 1 yr.
so weighting up a ....... making my daughters life a living hell to the degree she contemplates ending it to sorting him out and getting a yr inside i would take it, to stop it once and for all for my daughters sake.
you seem to know a reasonable amount about the law i wonder if you work within it as you have a lot of faith in the system.
No I don't work in the law or have anything other than a laypersons understanding of it :smt001
I certainly don't have any faith in the self adminstered justice system being clear minded, evidence based and fair to all, do you think that is possible? Even if it was fair in some instances how you would say to those that weren't being fair and were merely operating on gut reaction you cannot run things this way you might have picked the wrong guy, misunderstood or the punishment way exceeds the crime?

as you pointed out it is supposed to be a fair system based on facts and evidence that the courts punishment is based.
i agree with you on that point, but then you also have the other side of it where ppl are the victims and justice is not done in the courts.
some of the cases i read daily ie an elderly person attacked in their own homes who has been a law abiding citizen all their lifes and the person who carried out the attack gets let off light. the effects of the attack stay with that person for the rest of their lifes, some go on to re offend and see the elderly ppl in society as easy victims.
even if it gone through a court etc unless the sentence is harsh enough to fit the seriousness of the crime ppl will feel its an unfair system.
