Not as long as me LOL

In 1980 Dr. Ian Dunbar founded Sirius Dog Training the first off-leash training program specifically for puppies
OOOO 16 years after my trainer

Ian Dunbar says he was inspired by his father, who used treats for training in the 1950's, and has always said it isnt 'new', but revived and popularised.

this is why i keep watching. i don't agree with all he does but i agreed with all he did tonight.

i keep a very open mind with cm and tonight he had my vote.
I remember this episode & it was great! I was sure you were an 'anti' so thanks for being open-minded & showing us 'pros' some support when support is due! As you know, he's always got my vote!

juniordaddy: that is why i find the whole cm debate so fascinating. people do feel extremely passionate about their dogs and that passion is displayed here with the varying opinions.

last nights dw show was a stark comparison to the previous nights with the chow mix that i posted about earlier. my point is that cm showed such compassion and understanding for the dogs in last nights show, and all his methods involved positive reinforcement. the way he handled an introduction between a mildly unsocialised boxer dog and a boxer bitch straight out of rescue was absolutely perfect. there he used the 'calm, assertive' approach with none of the physical tools that i disagree with. he was patient and very understanding of the way these 2 dogs should meet. upshot was a happy boxer dog with a new friend and one less dog in rescue.

just because i didn't agree with him in the previous show, does not mean i have to disagree with everything the man does. i will continue to watch him with interest and an open mind.

As with all TV programmes you have no idea what happens off screen. Someone posted a link on a previous thread which shows Daddy (I think) biting someones dog in a 'behind' the scenes clip, others have posted clips showing the remarkable disappearing prong/e-collars. Who knows how much punishment training the dog has received that didn't make the final cut?

That's my point, you can't just rely on what you have seen on the programme.
One thing I have found as odd is the one with Teddy the Poodle seems to have completely vanished off the internet. You can see clips of the other 2 dogs in that particular episode but not Teddy and you do have to ask yourself why!
