Advance notice of the next class in the Show has just been announced

Best Rescue

Many have been kind enough to volunteer to help during the Show and I am hoping for two Collators to help for this class

A huge number of Dogsey dogs are rescues so there could be a very large entry for this class. The reason therefore in hoping to have two volunteers is to spread the work load for collating and posting the entries.

There are two potentially suitable ways to do this :

1] Purebred entries go to one collator and crossbreeds to the other.

or

2] Dogs up to the age of 6 to one collator, dogs over 6 to the other [ ages being at the time a photo was taken ].

The Collators` job for this class entails :

Keeping a note of who entered which pic so that when the Judge has awarded places the Collator/s can send me the details of the winners so that I can put their names to their placed virtual rosettes.

Posting the pics with their written piece on the designated thread, one pic per post, so the Judge can use the post number as reference for the placings.

The Collator/s can not enter the specific class they are collating the entries for

The Collator/s must not divulge dog or owner names, [ not even to me nor the Judge ], until the Judge has informed me that the places have been chosen and a post is made on the Class`s thread by myself to confirm that the results will be announced.
At that time I will need the details for the Rosies asap.

The Collator/s need to make sure they keep some pm space available for entries, don`t delete them to make more room until after noting the entrant details

The Collator/s must not enter into conversation about any entry with the entrant unless an entrants pic has been missed and they query it, [ if their pic does`nt appear on the class thread ], in which case just ask for it to be resubmitted if necessary.

Clear guidelines will be posted for the entrants so all will know not to make things difficult for the Collator/s

If more than two members are kind enough to volunteer to Collate for this class [ I hope ], I will write the names down and draw them at random

-------------------------

As the `Show Secretary` I will of course not be entering my own rescue dogs in this class as it may be considered unethical for me to do so, however if there are no objections I might submit them randomly and clearly marked as NFC [ Not For Competition ], because this particular class is one very close to my heart and every dog seen on the entry thread goes toward celebrating rescue dogs in the hopes of perhaps inspiring readers to adopt in the future :smt001

Thanks for reading, good luck to all who enter the class and thank you in advance to anyone willing to Collate for this class

Personally I don't see why you can't enter your dogs. Yes, at a real show, I could understand, but for our virtual one, which is supposed to be all about fun, I don't see why not. I know from judging the grubbiest dog that you have absolutely nothing to do with picking the winners and am happy that the judging will be completely inpartial (Krusewalker, I don't envy you at all trying to judge this one - well done for volunteering )

If you are still in doubt, we could always run a poll to see if there are any objections

In terms of collating, I was hoping to enter this class, but if you are short of collators, let me know & I will do that instead.

Aw bless you all, it`s lovely knowing my crew would be welcomed into the ring with me being Show Sec :smt058

On this occasion though, I think NFC would be the right thing to do so that I`m still supporting the rescue side of it, and there will plenty of other classes I will have the opportunity of entering [ unless any objections do come up at all ]

Besides, with six eligible dogs who are too smart for own good, if one got placed can you imagine the strops I would have to deal with from my non-picked crew
It does`nt bear thinking about :smt005

zoeybeau1, consider yourself recruited, thank you :smt023

Hali, your very kind offer is graciously declined, please do enter the class Rest assured I will snaffle you as a collator for another class, don`t you worry about that :smt079

That would be even worse
It would be ` Haha, I beat you lot` from the one in 1st, and `It should`ve be me` and `I was robbed` and `the Judge got the numbers the wrong way around` and ` Muuuuuum, why did`nt I beat the rest of the crew, I tried to look cute enough` and goodness knows what else !
Think of all the squabbles and ego-soothing I`d have to do between the six of them

Definitely the right decision not to put any of them in this class methinks, Collie brains are enough to contend with, but risk turning them in to a bunch of Collie brained Diva`s ?

I might be completely potty but I`m not stoopid :smt005

Count me in to help as well Patch.
I sit here most of the day and all night might as well use the time constructively.
