My deepest sympathy to Lesleys family and freinds.

A much respected member of the Dogsey family.

If you allow, the journey will teach you many things, about life, about yourself, and most of all, about love. You will come away changed forever, for one soul cannot touch another without leaving its mark..........
When the time comes, and the road curves ahead to a place we cannot see, we give one final gift and let them run on ahead, young and whole once more. "God speed, good friend," we say, until our journey comes full circle and our paths cross again.

Taken from a piece Lesley wrote a couple of years ago.

So sad, I hope lesley meets up with all her old freinds now, however many legs they have.

When I received an email about this I went numb.
I just couldn’t believe it. Thought it had to be a mistake at first…..

I haven’t been on here for a long time, but logged on today to tell what Lesley, or Shadowboxer as she was known as, meant to me.

She was more than a member on a forum to me. More than just a name with an opinion.
She was genuinely interested in the person behind the name. Interested in getting to know me and despite her great knowledge on dogs, she was eager to learn about my world and my way of training.
A world that was new to her and that has caused some great debates on here.

I can not say how much that meant to me and now, I´m reading the mails we send each other about the topics we couldn’t talk about online. Mails that brings back happy memories and a few laughs about the pictures and the stories that we shared.
But it also brings out great sadness. The world has lost an amazing person now and she can not be replaced. She was truly one of a kind.

Lesley´s work on Dogweb (or Dogsey as its known as now) is beyond compare.
I think everyone will agree with me when I say it was in her to be helpful, and without prejudice she was able to debate, read and reply about all topics wheter it be with a novice into the dogworld or an experienced handler - she had a way of talking to us all.

With no disrespect to anyone else, I think we can all learn from who she was.
At first glance the two of us didn’t have much but dogs in common but because of her persistence in getting to know me, who I am, and what I do, we found out that we shared a lot and that we aren’t so different at the end of the day.
What started out as replying to the same threads ended up with a friendship and a deep respect for eachother.

RIP and know you´ll never be forgotten.

Like the others I just don't know what to say what a tragic thing to happen to such a nice person.
I hope her husband and friends and family can take comfort from the thought of how highly she was regarded by everyone here on Dogsey as is proved by all the messages being posted. She wll really be missed. She was a very special person

My thoughts and prayers are with John and Lesley's lovely boxers at this sad time

I can hardly believe it. I am so, so terribly sorry, she is a huge loss to our community, and to the dog-loving world.

Safe journey, Shadowboxer, I'll miss you

Shadowboxer with her first Boxer ....

I first became aware of 'Shadowboxer' a couple of year ago, I read her replies to posts on Dogsey and was impress by her great knowledge of dogs and quiet self assurance. Gradually Lesley and I we got to know each other and became firm friends.

There was another 'Shadowboxer' that we only saw glimpses of on Dogsey, a beautiful and talented woman with a dry wit and great sense of humour.

I am going to miss her so very much .
