Nice, J! I have a lovely CD which was recorded in Roskilde Cathedral, featuring the Boys' Choir, the congregational choir and the cathedral organ. It is so good that you can almost hear the cathedral breathing! (Michael Praetorius: Lutheran Mass for Christmas Morning, 79 minutes of sonic spectacle!)

I'd wondered if the cathedral looks as good as it sounds!

Well I think that's a big church.. Our royal family is actually buried on the cemetary at Roskilde and the service was held in that church...

I live here......!
http://www.barton-village.co.uk/index.html

Bit of a naff website, but saves me explaining! Enjoy

St Cuthbert's and St Mary's Church is just over the road from me and the cricket/playing field is just up the road! But it's still closed cos they've spent an eternity re-grassing it! Never thought I would say this but I miss the cricket field!

I live in Essex too, Prittlewell in Southend on Sea, (usually pronounced Sarfend by everyone ! lol )

I was born and bred here, I like my roots, even though as you say, some places are more tranquil and exotic, but there again, life is what you make it, isn't it.

Redcar, on the North East Coast of England. Just 2 minutes walk to the beach for us. Not a bad place, but could be a lot nicer like most towns I guess. Doesn't help that we're right on top of British Steel and ICI I suppose. Only a few miles from the North Yorkshire Moors as well

I am Canadian originally though, from a large town just outside Toronto. Been here 13 years now but will probably retire back there one day
