Cath, bathe your eye in cold water, have your head over a sink and pour the water from the inside of the eye (near the nose) to the outside. It will wash any debris out and hopefully help with a burn as well. But get it checked to make sure there isn't anything embedded.

I've been for a walk with Dougal and Iona tonight. Iona has gone from dropping like a stone when she gets the harness and lead on and having to be dragged along pretty much yesterday to wiggling as soon as the harness and lead was on and racing to the end of the lead to keep up with Dougal, as soon as she was off the lead she stuck either close to Dougal or to me. She loved it and it was lovely to see her racing along with Dougal and to see her excited about going for walk instead of dropping and being scared.

As usual for our foster dogs, they have quickly discovered who is the sucker in the family. So Brian now has a fan

Lore, that is such lovely news about Iona - it's always so delightful to see a confused or worried dog coming out of themselves and beginning to believe that life can be fun!

Eileen - perhaps your third win will be a great big one

It is, but she is only 12 weeks old. Just a baby. Her owner was saying they had been trying to work it out but they couldn't figure out how to stop her doing it. I carried her yesterday till we could go off-lead, then she was off like a shot. Tonight she worked out that lead = FUN chasing Uncle Dougal

We have her till the 12th of January. Her family is away on holiday. They had booked the holiday before she came along so she needed somewhere that wasn't a kennel to stay. SSBTR didn't have anyone available in Inverness. So here she is. Adorable little munchkin that she is
