Ok, well not much to report from the vet today, she said her womb is still large and thick, this is because she is still absorbing pups, she said she won't eat much until all the protein had been absorbed. Her temperature was normal, she said she seemed bright in herself. So we came away with another 2 weeks of synulox, but she did warn we weren't out of the woods yet, there was still a chance of a pyo and any signs of something not quite right, we have to go straight back and see Vicky the other vet, as Maria is off to Denmark tomorrow for 2 weeks!

She's still not convinced it was Canine Herpes Virus, she thinks that because of the bleeding her cervix was still slightly open, infection got in, the cervix shut (hence the stopping of bleeding) infection then killed the litter :smt022 She said not to breed her again next time, but if we think she is up to it, to try her again next year. There is a small chance of infertility now, due to retained pups which could calcify and stay in her womb forever..........not a pleasant thought!

But she is fine, so fingers crossed that all continues to go well.

I know this has all been very upsetting CC but why didn't the vets do a C Section to remove the puppies ??

JUST A QUICK UPDATE

To our shock this morning, our poor girl passed another dead pup! I felt for certain she had finished as this litter died 4 weeks ago. She was a bit under the weather yesterday, panting, not eating etc. so todays delivery explains it. She's passed 5 now, so hopefully there won't be too much left inside.

She's back to normal today though, very playful and eating! I just hope it will all be over with soon.
