Our old doggie used to sleep in his own sleeping bag in between us. IMO doggies are essential for keeping warm on cold camping nights. At the campsites we'd leave the back door of the RAV4 open with his favourite bed in the back so that he could sleep in comfort in the daytime (he was getting on). Hopefully in spring we'll dust of the tent and get Lula out for her first trip.

We went for the first time this year, and realised we had forgotten to do something - we didn't show Hollie the tent first, she got quite upset as it was going up, was like a different dog for a short while. Once used to it, she was absolutely fine.
