Hi Steph.
I am a Stafford owner too but I were you and had experience of GSD's already I would go Rottie. Fantastic dogs second to none.
And I from what little I know of you I would say Rottie.

Hi Karen - my hubby would agree with you on a Rottie too, he loves them as I do too, but I do have 2 young kids, 7 & 3 years and I believe Staffies are wonderful with kids (as I'm sure rotties are too).

Its sooo hard to choose

Not disputing Staffords are wonderful with children - I have Staffs and they are.

But the only Rotties (and I have meet a few) I have ever meet have all been sooo fantastic, laid back yet imprssive dogs/bitches. Most appear to live with children too and I am told are great. I have no experience of large breeds but if I did and was like you in the position to choose one it would be a GSD or a Rottie for me.

I may get a rottie for my next dog. After long discussions and several changes of mind, we have agreed that it a rottie would be nice.

Go on Steph have a rottie

I have heard of a 10 month old rottie boy that is supposed to be fab with kids and other dogs that needs rehoming, current owner are moving from a house to a flat. I have left a message and am waiting for a call !!

I would be interested in some info on Rotties for those of you that have one, ie what to look for in a pup (if I decide to go that route !!)
