But won't it just make people move away anyway?

I made some great friends on here, came back today to post a Merry Crimbo message and to let people know I have a new doggie and you've moved it so no one can see it.

I know why a lot of people left, good people.... and I think it's Dogsey's loss if it somethings are so censored on here that that happens.

I've never been banned, never been rude to anyone on here, have been away ages, helped do the birthday list, offered to help with the Dogsey car stickers etc and that happens within minutes of coming back!

A bit extreme and not the friendly welcome this site would've offered before.

Very sad if paranoia has done that to Dogsey.

I have been a member here since the site began and think it is the same 'good place' it always was only bigger .
There have always been differences of opinion between people and the odd members and of the awkward squad, such is life. People have usually sorted out their differences in an adult manner or moved on.

I wonder sometimes if the advent of the so called 'networking sites' has contributed to the forming of little cliques where disgruntled people can stir up resentment behind peoples backs and cause ill feeling where none previously existed.

i think sites do need moderating , but sometimes i find dogsey abit "my way or the high way" /dictoral.

Also whilst im on a roll,
As we have a intro thread section, why not have a "goodbye" section, where if members want to take a timeout etc, they can put why. that would save alot of PM/rumouring

We don't allow threads slagging off Dogsey or it's members on the public board. We welcome feedback, but it belongs in the feedback section. That has been a rule since day one.

The only exception is if the thread is an official public feedback thread ie one like this one might have been.

The thing is social networking is here to stay.... and Dogsey being such a specialised and local site to many means a lot of us have met in 'real life' and ARE good friends, not just in a clique for negative reasons.

I think if you censor to the extent members can't even communicate between themselves resentment is formed, against the site not against people.

*waves to everyone who remembers her*

And of course my merry crimbo thread was not to slag off Dogsey..... an example of said paranoia if you thought it was! There are a lot of people on here who I am not in contact with but whom I remember. I can't contact them any other way than a quick post on here

If people stuck to topic and spoke in the manner they would wish to be spoken to, there would be no reason for dramas of any sort or for things to get personal.

We do not allow goodbye threads. If people want to leave they should do so gracefully and quietly without bothering anyone else, or disrupting the rest of the forum. This too has been a rule since day one.

Back on topic now please

Although I think the overwhelming majority would not like to see such a thread. I do have another idea
