Poor Luca my daughters skin flared up with eczema after her vaccs too! after trying the gp route (not much help ) i took her to a homeopath to be tested for food allergy. Eggs and all dairy were pinpointed and so for 12 months we cut these out completely (much more difficult than you would think - we had to scan every food label) her skin did take the full 12 months to clear up and then we started to introduce dairy back very slowly. She still gets minor flare ups but this is nearly always back to food!

Although it was an awful time for her i am glad i vaccinated her as measles or mumps or rubella would have been more devasting if she had contracted them. No one tells you how difficult being a parent really is do they????????

Hope Luca feels more comfortable asap

oh hun what a horrible situation!

my mum told me that when my sis was a baby she had REALLY bad exzema (red raw bleeding skin) and the dr at the time said it had absolutley nothing to do with food colourings...my mum cut them out any way and her skin got a lot better

Dr's dont always know best...

Hey Dani

Here are some links I found for Vaccine Package Inserts information - you should, among other stuff, get information on how the vaccine should be given, plus any known adverse reactions, contra indications etc.:

http://users.adelphia.net/~cdc/Vaccines.htm#Hib
http://poisonevercure.150m.com/vacci...ge_inserts.htm
http://www.whale.to/vaccines/pack.html

I hope Luca is ok today.

As for Doctors, well I don't have much trust in them myself, a few years ago our son suffered from ear infections from the age of 2 up till he was around 4 or 5. He's now 7 and at the time we asked would this affect his hearing or language skills. We were told no, it wouldn't.

Once he started school it became apparent that it has affected his hearing and his language skills, we had to take him to an ENT specialist who said the damage was done and they couldn't put gromits in his ears cause it was too late, he was now too old. As a result he is now at least a year behind in his language skills.

Thanks Doc.

Hope you get a solution for this soon. I'm a bit of an allergy-prone person, and I tend to find that my reactions to one allergen are more pronounced when my histamine levels are up for another reason. For example, when I have hayfever I get more extreme hives from contact with cats. Does that make sense? Anyway, you might find that Luca's reaction to Bruno diminishes if you can eliminate another, primary allergen.

Regarding the egg/injection thing: a single exposure to an allergen can trigger the whole allergy. He might have been fine with eggs until, for reasons unknown, its presence in the vaccine caused him to react. I'm not saying I think that is the cause, but I think your doctor is talking through their backside if they rule it out as a possibility!
