Hi -

I see you've already made your decision so won't worry about advising you

Just wanted to say - enjoy your little Jenica when she arrives!

My aunt and uncle had a beautiful rott when their kids were very young. She was a fantastic dog, although she nearly killed my little sister when she was just a wee tummy bump by sitting on my mum's knee! (Soft as ....!)
They did, however, end up rehoming Bessie (the rottweiler) because she was so boisterous and playful and far too large for the kids who were still small.

Thank you Lottie!! We defenitely will!!

I also had a rotti when I was small ( by small I mean 10/11 years old) and he was brilliant, but he was pedigreed.
I love rotties to death, but then they have to be purebred.

I think I would rather stick with what I have at the moment and look for a bigger dog later.

Hi Doggy mom irrespective of the breed I would say no don't get a puppy at this time..

Puppies when bought up correctly are very hard work, with your baby due shortly and an existing small child it would be difficult to do justice to a puppy right now . I would wait until the baby is a couple of years old before getting your puppy, that way you will enjoy them both to the full

Best wishes for the birth of your new baby.

Hi

I think you've made a wise decision, Doggy-mom.

Very best wishes for your impending arrival. There will be loads of time to bring the right puppy into the family when your girls are a bit older. In the meantime, you have plenty of time to decide on a breed that will suit you when the time comes

Oh and welcome to Dogsey...I should really have said that in my first post but better late than never

Thank you Minihaha & ShaynLola!!

I also think that holding off on the puppy is a good idea because I realised that I won't be able to give it all the attention it needs with the new baby.

Thank you for you well wishes I appreciate it!!
