In answer to whether you really need more than one dress - hmmm yeah i dont think you need more than one lol. As long as that one is the *PERFECT* one. If you get two ones that are nice that you like equally how will you choose when to wear each one and how long to wear it for before changing?! lol to many decisions are bad for you lol.
Im sure just one dress that is perfect is ok. Plus your dad and his cheque book might be able to survive a bit longer lol

I dont think i could get away with two dresses...far too many descisions!!!!
