When I wanted a poodle, I didn't want a brown or a miniature, ooopps first poodle was a brown and cream mini lol!

Having never bred a litter myself, I'm not sure I could tell you but breeders do say on their websites etc how many liver and how many black there are so I think you must be able to tell.

The ears are always more obviously liver if the dog is liver - like my Takara, people only seem to pick up on the fact she's liver when they see her nose and the spots on her ears because she's so dark.

If you look at that puppy in the picture I gave, it looks to me like it's liver because it's ear spots look brown but I couldn't say for certain!
