Primary and Juniour can be, it differs from place to place.
I think down South they are seperate, but up north they are together.
I was in the same school from age 4 till 11.
Then from age 11 till 16, I was in senior (high) school.

Interschool - as in within the school? If so, then we had 1 sports day a year.
As for competitions with other schools, they played weekly/fortnightly, usually after school, during the evening.

I went to an all girls boarding school too ....lets just say i made up 4 it when they finally let me out

Mine wasn't a boarding school, don't think I could have stood that! I'm a Mummy's girl! Would have missed her too much!

We got together with the All Boys school quite often though

it seems there is a lot of differences in different counties.
in our school they go to school in the nursery class which is just 8:40-11:20 in the term that they turn 4 in. James went in september cos his birthday is in october but lucy josh and jack all started after easter cos their birthdays are in may. then reception begins in the term they are gonna turn 5. then its year 1 and 2 for key stage 1 and years 3,4,5 & 6 for key stage 2. They go to school at 8:50 have morning play at 10:45 and lunch at 12:00-1:00pm they come home at 3:20pm we have to collect them from class in ks1 and ks2 they are not allowed to leave at home. they have 2 hour long pe sessions a week. they have 2 weeks off at xmas 2 weeks off at easter 6 weeks in the summer from end of july till beginning of september and then 1 week at end of feb and end of october. school dinners cost £1.40 a day. senior school or key stage 3 is from 11-16 and i havent got there yet so i dont know too much but agree with the grade system mentioned above A+,A,A-,B+ etc. mine do their S.A.T.S. in year 2 and 6 and9 which are all linked to the league tables of our schools. in ks1 sats they are graded 1 (which is below average) 2 which is the level they are supposed to be at and 3 which is above average. then in ks2 sats which is 11yrs old they get 3,4 or 5, 4 being average then in third year senior year 9 or whatever you prefer they are supposed to get 4,5 or 6. then our final exams in year 11 at 16 are called G.C.S.E's which are graded a-f or u for unmarkable. god i have gone on a bit i hope this helps. i have reports but i would have to post you one if yu want and would have to do it sharpish and its only a ks2 one not a high school one
