Dalmatians are the second biggest entry at Crufts in the Utility Group - around 250 - and those are just the show ones that have qualified! Between July and September 2004 there were 571 registered with the UK Kennel Club, if that is typical then that is over 2,000 a year registered so not counting those that are not. The Dalmatian rescue organisations are rehoming round 350 a year, too.
Thankfully, there are plenty about!
Plus - it's getting close to being a liver domination in the ring (especially here in Ireland, Polly was the only black spotted bitch in Open at some recent shows) so Takara already has an advantage (not that she needs one lol)
