the pit x neo was the traditional mix, now a bandog is any mix of bull and mastiff blood, so any one that has a dog of these mixes are right to call them a cross/mongrel or bandog
DDB X AB is mastiff cross bull so there for can be called a bandog

sorry but anyone calling there dog a bandog is asking for trouble, this just goes to prove its not the dogs that are a problem its the people.whats wrong with having a masstiff x or a bulldogx, why has it got to be labeled a bandog.
do you know were the name originated from what a bandog is??????
if i had a mastiffxbulldog that is exactly what i would tell people it is,not put it at risk by given it a macho name. has any of you ever been involved in a dog sezier?/? if you love your dog forget the macho label, and love it for what it is.

I can never understand the need for a label either....when we had cross breeds or mongrels that what they were called ...why do people now see the need to give them 'names'

all i have to say is look up bandog and make up your own mind as wether a bandog is only a mix of neo mastiff x pit bull cross, or wether they are a bull breed x mastiff type dog

couldnt agree more we have a westie cross dandie dinmont, and she is just that!!!
I wouldnt call her i dont know a 'Wendy' terrier like they do with cockapoo's, cavishons, shorkies etc
They are a cross why not just let them be what they are, if someone wants a dog to have a posh name for for a pedigree IMO

the point im making is,what ever your dog is crossed with have the sence not to call it a bandog. this name is known by the goverment as a neoxpit, and it only take one person to tell your local authoritys that you have a bandog and your dog could be seized [and no amount of explaining that its really just a staffy x masstiff is going to stop them taken it]common sense is needed

Doesn't matter what its a cross of...could be chihuahua x G.Dane for all I care....its a cross breed...however if a bandog is a mastiff cross bull breed OR a neo x pitt that still makes 2nd crosses a mongrel.

Ummm, why is a dog that has been (in its history) bred to fight more likely to be a child-killer? They are no more likely than any other working dog to attack a human - they have been selectively bred to be handled by humans, not attack them

When a poorly trained/socialised bull-breed or fighting-breed dog does snap/bite (just like any other breed can) - they sadly are capable of doing more damage than other breeds; but I have learnt from DW members that Bull Breeds are amongst the most gentle there are towards people

BTW Graeme - I'll take the risk with your killing machine - maybe you could get a local paper to run an article on her
