I'd maybe add the drool to the list of cons, and an extra loving to the list of pro's

Miniature Pinscher

PRO'S

Small compact dog, short coat, easy to keep in good condition, very loyal little dogs, not afraid of anything, although they have the reputation of being independant, they are very much a family dog, they want to be involved in everything. Good watch dogs ( see cons lol ), extremely loving and want to be with you no matter where you are or what you are doing.

CON'S:

The Gob on them! Seriously they are amazing watch dogs, but the slightest new noise sets them off, anyone that comes to the house will be barked at ( if you dare tell them to be quiet they will bark louder!)...and if they DONT like you they will keep on barking and barking and yapping and barking!
With them being a toy breed they are classed as delicate but they dont realise that themselves, they think nothing of jumping up and over the sofa's, its fun for them, can give the owners a heart attack at times tho!

If spoilt as a puppy they can get seperation issues ( shhh dont tell my sister but we cancelled going to Florida with her next year as I dont think Meeka would cope with kennels )

Pros - adoring, loving, soft, sweet, handsome, adventurous, very intelligent, easily trainable (except on lead!!), excellent recall especially to whistle, environment adaptable (i.e. crazy when out and about but calm and sleepy in the home) great with humans and other dogs, full of life and ALWAYS so gorgeously happy. I will never have enough of that bounding, happy bum on long walks!

Cons - swamp magnets, mud magnets, fixation issues, jumpy/skittish with certain noises, toy destroyer in what can only be record time, crazy when on walks as will be into anything, anywhere, anyhow and RUBBISH on lead!

Basset Hound

Pros:

Very loyal
Loving
Cuddle monster
Laid back in the home
Full of character
Funny
Very easy to read - have an expression for every mood
Well behaved

Cons:

Shed a lot
Slobber that turns to rock if you don't clean it up quickly
Greedy - very food orientated
Do everything at their own pace.
Will obey commands but only if I use my serious tone!

Golden Retriever

Pros:

Happy, happy, happy (no other mood)
Laid back in the home
Fun
Easy to keep clean
Friendly

Cons:

Too friendly with dogs - especially if they don't take to her, she thinks she is going to win them over - she still hasn't learnt!
The mounds of cream fur when she sheds, thankfully only twice a year
