How did you find moving out to Ireland?

I am still looking into moving out there, there's a house I've seen with so much potential, but moving across a large body of water does worry me slightly

Thanks everyone, we still have a lot to do but its the case of having the money lol, we do a bit everytime we can afford it, ready to paint the outside as soon as the weather gets good.
Wyrd, its the best move i ever made, although Ireland is going through the recession worse than Britain at the minute, but the folk are lovely, the west is lovely if very wet some years and its 45 minutes to uk by plane, knock airport is 20 minutes from us. Its def a buyers market at the minute, property prices are very low, especially on the older properties. the cost of living is quite high but the wages and the social welfare reflect that and would be higher than the Uk too, but on a sunny day, looking at the fields and horses, its well worth it.

The house I've seen is Northern Ireland but very close to the border, 20 acres of land and backs onto a lough. I can see so much potential there but it's still nerve wracking
