Well I've just had a look at the custom built cages on the Barjo website and they start at over £400! So for our largish boot it would probably be even more than that, so I think we have to stick with a tailgate guard, that's the best we can afford.

Try googling dogtravelproducts they do a tailgate guard for less than half the price of the Barjo ones - I've ordered one.

What about Barnesbrook? They are the silent traveller ones (they don't rattle) http://www.dogcages.net/

I have a Guardsman but they are really heavy to lift in and out of the car especially if you are on your own etc.

I have a barjo tailgate guard with 2 doors and a divider, so the back of my car is in 2, I have 4 dogs, 2 in each side.
