Never done the"Alpha Male(actually it should be "Alpha Female"if it actually existed)domination nor infact any form of coercion.
Don't claim to be a behaviourizt, I'm not "hands on"in the physical sense & I've had a"group"of 11 GSDs(not a "pack"as they were not all directly related)all living indoors together without any problems(Entire Males & Females-including two active stud dogs). I currently have 6 dogs(five entire males & one entire female)all living together without me having to be Alpha anything.
Way too many people set themselves as the trainer of last resort & brag of how many times they have been bitten yet "cured the dog", no decent dog trainer would put themselves in the position of being such a threat to a dog that they get bitten.
See i knew if put that you would resort to your comment . Bla bla bla bite.
Shouldn't have said anything , i don't brag about being bitten and i not talking about gsd they are far to an intelligent breed to bite, through menace , and usually in my opinion move forward far more quickly then some other breeds? who tend to stuck in between places.
I did say in the original post that not doubt you didn't read that someone would pick up on the fact i mentioned this . It gives passionate people something to nip at (lol)
Did i mention g.s.d.s (NO).
Again with the Alpha please take the time to read all my posts , i have explained "alpha"
i am glad you have rehabilitated so many g.s.d they will no doubt be grate full.
I really could defend myself on here forever you have your point of view on things however this is your opinion you are entitled to it . Please do read all my posts.
As long as you keep doing what your doing and allow me the piece on mind to continue with what i am doing , to every dog there is no hard set or fast rule .
I do not dominate , cause fear ( i assume you mean i stimulate the fight or flight instinct) ,i assume you are trying to make me out to be a cold hearted bully (good luck with that)
I help dogs move forward , from a place that is causing the stress and unhappiness.
I dont do this by backing them up into a corner , i do it by helping them make there choice .
I am glad you have such a large gathering of dogs , and you too have a different opinion to mine ,it makes neither yours or mine wrong , it is different ,it is ex citing and it obviously works for you . I hope you will agree with me
when i say a dog can read you , like a book . They use there senses in built over thousand of years to understand us , they read our emotions, that is why one rule that works for works , you believe it you have faith in and you make the plausible
That is why what i use works for me , i believe in what can be achieved , i believe in the dog , yes i have been bitten, not because the dog is afraid , not because the dog fells threatened or dominated but because ,it is a release of energy a reaction,we have the logical thought process not dogs .it is simply a reaction.
I do not hold the degree, and i have not spent hours guessing why a dog reacts they it does
No i know trainers wont put themselves in that position, and i don't blame them, it isn't through being successful though , well i don't think so .
It is through lack of involvement touch done correctly is a very powerful tool .All Animals respond to touch , that is why dogs are such brilliant examples in the likes of pets at therapy , working with disabled , working with people with depression.
They understand us and through touch develop a deep bond.
Do not under estimate my passion my commitment and my ability to rehabilitate i do not under estimate yours.
Have a fantastic evening
.
