It appears now that the Social Work Dept. doesn't want to ask for the money back. They seem to think that somehow, I deserve this.

I have contacted my old schoolfellow, Tony Blair. We'll see if he can be bothered.

Mrs. S. has, effectively, STOLEN the grant money, and what does the SW Director say? That the modifications were put in for Mrs.S. "in case she might need them in future". So, folks, do you want a new kitchen? Do you want a new bathroom? Just ask your Social Work Department, and tell them you might need them sometime in the future. Your friendly, local social workers will be pleased to oblige! Public money no object!

Incidentally, Mrs.S. does get Disability Living Allowance, but not for any physical disability - she gets it for BEING OFF HER HEAD. btw - the SW Dept know this..........

I have now sent the story to "The Scotsman" newspaper. Our local bumwiper may be scared to annoy the local Council, but The Scotsman will judge the story on its merits, not on which vouncillor they have a beer with.

Absolutely Snorri. I'd be sending the Daily Record a copy too, the spin on it will be slightly different than the Scotsman but hey any publicity is good publicity.

I'd als o be tempted to write to our new prime minister!!! Not becauuse I think he is a compassionate individual who will see how wrong this is but because lets face it he needs all the good publicity he can get in Scotland!

Already done, Benzmum! I have sent the story to the Daily Record, too. I am going to have the SW director so flummoxed that he won't be able to find his butt with both hands and a roadmap!

I think some jobs should be lost here, too - they certainly aren't being done properly!
