I agree most of the dogs were overweight, looked like all they did every day was walk round a show ring, very sad

Well I was showing my Malamutes, and I can honestly say I didnt see a single FAT Malamute. even the ones that dont get worked looked in pretty good condition. now dodgy movement, well thats another story

Would think if you're into showing you'd have to be an idiot to qualify and then show a dog that wasnt at its peak with regard to fitness and condition

Pete I am new to this forum, and I have noticed that there does seem to be a little inverted snobbery with regards to showing, I think its your choice to show and no one should slate you for it.

i dont think thats the case pete i think its just people giving there honest opinion, i agree, i thought a lot of the big breeds mastiffs etc were far too heavy, fat wobbled from side to side when they trotted, i dont like to see that on any dog. the bulldogs looked very stuffy and could hardly walk and i thought a lot of the staffs looked like they wouldnt last 5 mins if they were taken for a brisk walk round the ring, but thats just my opinion, other people might see the same dogs as being just right. everyone sees things differently

Hi Pete, I have nothing against show dogs and didn't go to crufts just to slate the dogs. I went to see some outstanding dogs which i did
I was just giving MY opinion as to what i saw. I'm not saying EVERY dog was fat but there was alot of dogs that were.
People who show dogs do a great job promoting there choosen breed and spend alot of time and effort on there dogs, so more power to them

Maybe i should of posted the title as 'Some excellent dogs at Crufts aswell as some real fatty's'.
