Thanks Kerena, as I don`t have human small person crew I never know when the holidays fall in different areas so thats very useful.

I think what I`ll do is have the Halloween class open from say Saturday the 20th October right through to Sunday the 4th of November so that at some point during that time all the youngsters should be on holiday and will have time to get dressed up or face painted for photos, and means it will be open for the Halloween weekend itself when they may be dressed up for Halloween parties and parents could get some pics then if its not convenient beforehand - but hopefully it might be an opportunity for the youngsters to have a go at making costumes as a bit of a fun project while they are off school on either week
I`ll get the advance notice up during the next week once I`ve got the first youngsters class opened [ which is imminent now ]

Hi Morgandy, unfortunately you have missed Gundogs AV [ Weimi ] but we have`nt had the Working Group yet, that one will open in just after two weeks time

If you may be away when the class is due, members can ask someone else to send entries to collators on your behalf

There will be classes for the Groups again but in a pose which depicts their breed heritage ie Gundog with a retrieve dummy, Pointers pointing, Collies `stalking` etc so there will be another opportunity your Weimi in a Pedigree type class, plus lots of Novelty class opportunities

There is also a catagory planned for Best Head, which will be run as individual classes for Pedigree AV Best Head, Crossbreed Best Head and Non-Recognised Breed Best Head, and these will be different to Best Expression for more relaxed fun type head shots, the latter will be a Novelty class for pedigrees / purebreds and crossbreeds all in together.

HTH

Hi Kerena,

Best Zoomie will be fully explained in the pre-preparation post on the Video class thread but basically its a dog running at full pelt for the sheer joy of it - on the clip of the agility Chihuahua posted by Hayleybella Here there is a brilliant example of a little zoomie - watch the dog when the vid counter gets to the last 20 seconds

For how / where to upload videos, This Post gives basic details and further help links

Patch I wasn't allowed to enter one of my dogs in the Terrier section because the pose was wrong. Have the rules been changed?

Hi Annestaff, I don`t quite understand your query :smt017

You certainly were`nt stopped from entering a class with a side on pose as per the requirement of these particular classes for which examples of what to aim for are linked to in each entry information post :smt001

As the rules state for each of these particular AV classes :

"Don`t worry if your dog does`nt stand `just so`, the main thing is to enter a nice clear side-on pic of the dog standing up and it does`nt matter if its indoors or outside, but preferably not on a formal `showing table`"

All the Show Posed AV classes have exactly the same requirement on this, so no it has`nt changed.

There are more `breed specific` classes scheduled ie head shot, `working stance` pose typifying a breed in or out of the show ring, but I don`t change the rules of these classes to suit one of other breed within them, this particular series of `show pose` AV classes have the same requirement throughout and which everyone entering so far has submitted suitable entries for :smt001

The only one of yours which was removed was the one you changed your mind about entering which you removed yourself. I did say at the time [ when asking if any mods knew about an entry disappearing from the thread ], that it was a shame as the pic was lovely example but you decided not to re-enter, you certainly were not prevented from entering as per the pose requirements for that class

[ please could you move your and my posts on this to the questions section Here as per the other rule of not posting directly onto this thread You can edit that line out when they are moved of course lol ]

Ah, just found them - no they will unfortunately need to be re-submitted in the pose required for the class as per the Brief in the info post for their class.

I enter another which I was told wasn't allowed
Was it a side on photo as per the brief ?
If it was, please could you pm it to me to have a look at as I certainly did`nt say no to any photos which were within the brief for the class concerned.

Show Sec announcement

Our already hard working Mods are helping the show even more by beginning to lock entry threads after classes have closed

This is to let future members know that those classes are no longer open for entries to prevent confusion and disappointment for people viewing threads without noticing closing dates

Thank you again to the wonderful mods for taking on the extra work load generated by the show, it would not be so professional looking without your hugely appreciated help :smt041

I wish I could take credit for this excellent idea but it was`nt down to me,
it had`nt occurred to me to do it
