Hi Meganrose it may well be the vet has taken this action more as a precautionary measure before a small problems develop into a more serious one and that's good .
The small IV wound should heal pretty quickly too.
It is amazing how resilient puppies are, you only have to look at Crazycockers and 'Mini man'/ Charlie with all the problems he had , against all the odds he has turned into a fantastic dog.

I hope your puppy will be with you very soon

Thanks rip I do hope so I don't think I could stand another disappointment with the puppy. As long as she is okay, I'll cope with anything else.
