Mine has to be Lady, my ruby (with a touch of white) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I bought her with my first weeks wages, plus a bit more which I paid my dad back over the months. When me and OH moved into the house we're in now, she came with us, sadly she died at the age of 11 years

This picture was taken in her last summer!

Aw what a lovely thread! Brings back fond memories...

This is IGOR!
My parents got him when I was about 2yrs old, and we grew up together. I have still never got over his passing when I was 10 - makes me well up even now!
He was an AMAZING dog - you're right, every dog gets compared to your first!

Thats me in the swimming costume (for some reason?!)

Lottie - I've got a spookily similar pic of me curled up with Iggy when I was about 45yrs old - I'll try & dig it out

Afraid I don't have any piccies of my first dog. Frisky was a poodle/terrier cross and we had him for 11 years, rescued him from a beck where his owners intended to drown him. Took him straight away from them, told them what I thought of them and never looked back. Still miss the little fellow now
