Great pictures, I am still shocked at how great the weather has been - what is this all about no summer then up in the 20s in September. Not that I am complaining mind it makes a great change .

We dont go swimming that often part from when we are in Argyll visiting my mother we sometimes take the dogs swimming at Ayrshire although I have vowed never to go again after the last time driving down that dual carriageway (the one with no barriers ) its a nightmare.

Which beach was this if you dont mind me asking? We are always looking for places nearby to take the girls.

Laura, the beach is at Prestwick, its usually quite quiet. The road down is a nightmare as they are building new roads, but it is worth the journey.

Quite Quiet. Oh now that sounds about right for me and my two, I have to be able to see right round and have a good warning of oncoming dogs before I even think about letting them off.

Sorry to bug you but does the beach have a name? We were at the one in North Ayrshire its like a seafront with loads of houses along the front.

hi Laura, no it has no name. You just drive into Preswick town centre and the beach is signposted.

I like a quiet beach too because Star can get a bit hyper around kids. You can walk right along so you find a really quiet spot and you will be able to see other dogs a mile off.

It sounds as if you were at Saltcoats or Ardrossan they have a lot of houses on the beach.
