Exactly, your Dougal came away a little confused and with a place to wear the diamond stud earring you're getting him for his birthday but what about Great Auntie Florence's yorkie that may be next?
Post a little late,so well done for reporting it.

I think you did the right thing by reporting it.

I just hope the dog doesnt get punished/seized because of the irresponsible owner. Owners like that give my dog a bad name and I cant stand it!

The first thing I ask any dog owner we meet on a walk is 'Is he/she ok with other dogs' and 'how old is the dog'.

If they're a pup they'll probably be ok, even if the owner is unsure. If they're DA we keep them on a tight lead, and take it from there.

Hope Dougal gets well soon.

Usually that is the case, but I'm not sure this guy spoke English to be honest. He didn't seem to understand what I was saying.

Let us remember whatever happens to this dog is not down to YOU, but the owner.

The owner CHOSE to buy a pit bull, CHOSE to have its ears cropped, CHOSE to walk it off lead and unmuzzled.

The responsibility for what happens to his dog is HIS, just as all our dogs are OUR responsibility.

Agree with above but must just point out that original post says that both dogs were leashed.

Thanks guys, I felt really guilty cause of my belief in deed not breed but...

Dougal, by the way is doing really well, the cut is healing really cleanly. It's scabbed over nicely and he's not scratching at it either.

In the US it is common to crop ears so they stand up for Boxers, Dobermanns, Great Danes etc.

Fighting dogs are normally bred to have little rosebud ears to minimise damage, although they are often cropped by breeders in a different way.
