Poor you! I know you were feeling bad when we met last week and I'm so sorry you're still not sorted. Mines not great but I'm not in any pain at all thank goodness. Here's hoping you are able to get relief one way or another very soon. xxxx

That sounds AWFUL, I am so sorry you are in so much pain and like you say it does sound terrible that you just have to ride it out. I hope the doc on Wed can sort you out though a bit worried he finds a mummified creepy crawly You do read about these things and sorry H but it is something I can imagine happening to you

I'd hate anybody to go through the pain I was in over Christmas and before. I was getting up at 2 and 4 am to do the hot oil in my ear, the steam inhalation, and I was crying with the pain. It also helped to shove a rolled up tip of a cotton wool pad soaked in boiling water into the ear, it really did relieve the pain (although it scorched my ear sometimes lol!)

If it's any consolation Dave started his the week before Christmas and he says he feels worse today than he did over Christmas! It's a very long drawn out flu this one I'm afraid, you really have to look after yourself as much as possible, you can't just shrug this one off! Good luck with yours, I know how you must be feeling
Now I feel worse than I already did!! Mine started Boxing day night with I got up this morning thankful I could once again almost breathe through my nose was up about an hour and then started to feel really dizzy with hot flushes and the terrible phlegmy cough back (it was the 1st symptom) and have now spent the whole of today being sick or coughing up gunk. I don't even have the energy to attempt my ritual Hogmanay house clean to get ready for the new year I hate that as its something my mum always did. Everything clean and in its place for the new year. Stuart, bless him is trying but he won't do like me So of course that is making me grumpier and I just so want to curl up and wake up when this has passed. I have spent 3 days in my bed and still feel like cr*p and Now it looks like it might last 3 weeks

Anyway hope the ear doesn't give you too much trouble and that you have a good new year x

Oh Lynne, you poor thing, you sound as bad as my poor Dave. He's been coughing his lungs up most of the day too. I can also relate to you saying about wanting to curl up and wake up when it's all passed, that's exactly what I said to Dave a couple of weeks ago, I just wanted to die, I wasn't myself, I could hardly get up the stairs at night, and how I walked the dogs for an hour each morning in that freezing cold snow and ice I will never know, but I did. That was probably my downfall with the ear, coz I didn't have a hat then, Dave gave me one of his a week later I remember coughing so much in the mornings when I cleaned my teeth I was gagging and had to move over to the loo to cough it all up in there lol!

I think you're also right when you said up there "it is something I can imagine happening to you" yeah, it's always me isn't it lol! It'll be all of 15 years old if something IS in there!!!!

Anyway, you take care of yourself, I'm sorry I've let the cat out the bag about the 3 weeks bit, but I'm actually on my 4th week of the flu and I'm still coughing, but then I suppose Dave could be passing it back to me, you just never know do you. Thank goodness none of us has ended up in hospital yet, and look at how many people have died over the past week with it it's doubled from 300 odd to now 700 last week alone I think I am right again when I said it was swine flu and not the normal flu we've all got here! You all take care, and I'll sort this ear out on Wednesday and I really hope none of you get this earache with yours.

Well I do certainly hope it never gets that bad for all the Dogsey folk who've picked up whatever it is. Sorry you're suffering too Lynne (Aren't you Scotish folk supposed to be imune to such things )

I hope I don't get any of these nasties 'cos I'm unbearable when I'm ill OH has got something which we're almost certain she picked up from some relatives who came visiting this week

Despite all the medical negatives try to look on the bright side,New Year almost here and has to be better than 2010 for me (Assuming I last out the year )

All the best Helena and Lynne and all the other lovely Dogsey folk, see you all in 2011

Jesting 'cos you haven't used it yet, or 'cos you don't really have one. That would be a shame 'cos those sorts of things are becoming very collectible and very valuable.

Two sets, wow Hang onto them, put a 'tiny' bit of 3in1 oil on the metal parts now and again and one day you might be glad you keept them, they really are worth a lot if genuine and from the 18oo's.

ETA:-
BTW Happy New Year to you

Oh don't worry about me k9paw, I'm a survivor, the pain is just a dull ache now, nothing like it was over Christmas, I can take a joke, not so sure about those tools though of yours and Losos lol!
