Oh and "innit" - its isn't it not innit !!!!!

My son says ''no fair'' instead of what I think he should say is ''not fair''.

In fact I would rather he say neither lol

Hilarious thread!

1. ''Pacific, instead of specific''. That drives me insane.
2. ''What's your bandwidth?'' As in do you have time to do this. What!
2. ''Let's go pick some low hanging fruit''. I 'think' it means cease and opportunity.
3. ''Going forward'' - Gack!
4. ''Do you know what I mean?'' Usually I don't, no.
5. People who say foreign words in an English way - ''Reason detre'' Vs ''Raison D'etre'', ''Caf'' Vs ''Cafe'' etc.
5. Generally anyone who pronounce things incorrectly.

LOL - nahh, you'd not say that if you met him - he smoked a pipe in his twenties!!!

He doesn't use it in in that context though - he uses it when he is trying to describe someone who is fit (as in healthy) or somebody with muscle. He literally has made it up!!!

People who say they've been to see a Fillum is another - it's a FILM!!!!

When I lived in Grimsby a lot of people seemed to have the words Wary & Weary mixed up. I would often hear comments like "I'm really tired and Wary" - noooo - you mean Weary!!

Going to stop now - am at risk of sounding like my Mother!!!

Oooh, I love this thread but then I'm a grammar pedant! I was talking to someone last night about a dog with mange and she kept saying it was 'bold' instead of 'bald' - didn't quite have the same ring about it!

I also hate the upwards inflexion at the end of sentences - I think that came over with Neighbours!

Top of my hate list are 'should of' instead of 'should have', 'your' instead of 'you're' (but you can only tell that written down!) and 'less' instead of 'fewer'. I guess I'm showing my age here as I see these more and more often and they will probably end up as acceptable terms of speech.

Not heard many of these but they are hilarious and I might start using them to see what reaction I get
