I can`t help wondering why the long list.......
I`m fine with the dogs I have. When the time comes that I can take another no doubt a suitable candidate will find me.

Really? I was told generally not a good mix by a rescue centre. I guess there are exceptions to every rule.....;o)

Maybe not a perfect match on paper, but not impossible.

It used to be people thought greyhounds needed lots of exercise but now i feel it has gone the other extreme and people think they dont need any
Blue is DESPERATE for his two walks a day, and yes he will sleep all day in between but he would HATE to be a house dog he can go on for as long as the others no problem!

No list really, but I'm a fan of a lot of the gundog and HPR breeds mostly. I like German Wirehaired Pointers, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas, Weimeraners, Spinones, Clumbers (working type), Brittanys, etc. I'd also have another Labby and of course another Slovak. If I had to pick another breed right now that I don't already have, I would most likely go for a Weim or a HWV. All hypothetical though, unless I win the lottery, or grow another pair of arms.

Very true honeysmummy, our greyhounds definately look forward to walkies as much as any other dog, they have 20 mins in the morning and at least the same at night or generally more. When the weather has been awful and they have missed one walk out of the 2 they are definately restless.

In regards to my list... well ....

More greyhounds
italian greyhound
whippet
newfoundland
st bernard
great dane
Chi
sharpei
and anything thats elderly, poorly or generally straying would find its way here if i had the time and authorisation from the OH!!

Ok I probably won't be able to remember all the breeds I see and adore but I will have a go.
Papillon
Chinese Crested
Great Dane
Irish Wolfhound
Saluki
Afghan
Borzoi
Laekenois
Malinois
(further)tervs
GSD (love long haired and white but any really as long as they are quite square)
Rotti
italian greyhound
(further) german spitz klein
Otterhound
Duck Toller
Beauceron
Schipperke
Basenji
Rough Collie
Samoyed
No real rhyme or reason to that list and I know some are just not suited to my lifestyle but I think they are all beautiful.
I could also see myself offering a home to a rescue staffy (esp the blue, very gorge!) as I know they can be such good dogs and have seen some fast ones do agility.

There are many breeds I admire but wouldnt like to own such as Newfoundlands, BMD's, standard poodles etc so that should cut my list down a bit! The following breeds are dogs I would actually own:

Korthals Griffon
Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer
Brittany
Working cocker
Australian Shepherd
Australian Cattle Dog
Kelpie
Griffon Fauve De Bretagne
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Doberman
Giant Schnauzer
Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla
