Not alot, strange noises in the house he will bark at, but only at night, and only sometimes.
I honestly think he's too lazy to bark, surely barking takes up valueable sleeping time!? And he can't be having that!

- He's snoring as I type. Typical!

Oh where to start...?

Inside the house, Dexter barks at:

- anyone he hears walking past our house

- anyone he sees standing outside our house

- anyone entering or leaving the house next door, if they do it loudly

- post arriving

- anyone knocking at our door

If he's looking out the window he barks at:

other dogs
cats
horses
anyone he doesn't 'like' the look of
squirrels

Outside the house he barks at:

Other dogs on lead
Motorbikes
Men carrying things - big bags, newspapers, etc
Cats
Horses
Anything that moves that he thinks is a cat
Anyone with an open umbrella
White vans
A dog up the road that he regularly has 'conversations' with...!
Anything that he sees moving in the garden at night (he's a great watch dog!)

There are other triggers but these are the most common.

Jaz will bark when his squeeky toy gets stuck under an item of furniture and won't stop until it's pulled out for him, but until I read this thread, I never realised it's the only time he barks!

Most people at the door. Stuff where it shouldn't be when we're out - esp at night - Getting better at unexpected man at the bus stop (night thing) but have had a good growl at a generator parked in the field and a "Warning Ice" sign.

End up with a growling monster if an overnight guest he doesn't know gets up in the night too - until they say hello. He ends up in my room if there's guests as they get the room I normally have his bed in.

. Anybody who isn't my downstairs neighbour walking up the side of the house.
