Please have the decency to not turn yet another thread into a personal vendetta---especially not this one.

The child was with her mum and another adult according to the report I read---it was the owner who was out.

I was in no way blaming anyone.

A terrible sad accident for everyone.

I'm with those who said there's a possibility that this was not an attack, but a tragic accident. Big dog + little kid + kitchen floor could very well equal a severe head injury for the poor little girl.

I hate that they call everything an "attack" and want to blame the dog when it might have just been a tragic accident.

I feel for the family and I hope the owner doesn't go to jail if it's found to be an accident and I hope the dog is not killed for just being too big.

Where little ens are concerned you should be there with them or keep them apart

All Im saying is that this could of been a genuine accident, whereby in Runes own words the dog was being a dog. Im far from defending this but we really dont know what happened.
will you PLEASE not bring me and jake into this!!! there is really no need to bring that into this at all!!

Totally agree with you both.

It sent a chill down my spine when I heard this on the news. I cannot begin to imagine how devastated the wee girls parents are - or for that matter the horrific death the wee lass suffered

After reading those articles it certainly doesn't smack of the usual background history these attacks usually have. I wonder how it happened

That family will be torn apart by this terrible tragedy, so very sad

you never know who to believe in these tragic cases. one paper says he was a responsible caring dog owner and the next paper says 'devil dogs'
