Almost certainly not.

The one thing that I would possibly consider it is for socialisation. I wouldn't want him to 'train' my dog, but I can see potential merits of an under socialised dog spending time with his pack.

My dogs do go into kennels so obviously I don't have a problem entrusting them to others, if his kennels were as good as the ones I use and just as close then yeah I would trust him with my dogs. They don't need any training as such, they don't have issues, so I think it would be a waste of his time and my money but hey that avoids the question, so to answer the question yes I would.
To say his dogs are boring and not allowed to play is total cr@p but hey ho, he does play ball with them in quite a big group, Frisbee etc. he also has big paddling pools etc for them to play about in, but i guess you don't want to believe that either. Whatever.

As an owner who suffers from Seperation anxiety....I have never been without at least one of my dogs - usually all....

However - I have left the odd one or 2 with Rune for a night, and her jaw is still recoving from smacking the floor when I told her I would oike to go to Australia fro a month....however - the tickets have not been booked so there is still time to back out!

With regards to residential training, it is a service I offer, but I try very hard to dissuade people from doing it. I much prefer for the owner to work on the dog.

I have had a couple of cases where it has worked very well. One with a Lab who came over as a pup from the Isles of scilly, they have no training facilities over there and her owner wanted her to have some positive interactions with some other dogs - she comes back once a year when they go on holiday - its so nice to see her

The other is a Springer Spaniel who lives just down the road. I was amazed at how the residential worked with him In 3 weeks, he went from being a dog who had to live outside during the day and a crate for the night, only having walks on a flexi lead, to a dog who sleeps quietly by thier bed, comes in and out when he pleases, does not steal the kids toys and has great walks as he now comes back when he is called! He also still comes back for holidays - his owners leave him with me when he goes away instead of putting him in Kennels.

Only at gunpoint.

We nearly always can take our puppies with us. We have left them in kennels, but more often with other people raising service dog puppies. I won't go into why, but we once left a 43 day old puppy with another family.

Hi,

Not a hope in hell! Never! Someone touches my dogs and I'll rip their arms out!! (Maybe a bit harsh).

I did think of lookin ginto residential training particualryl with Zane at one point but the idea was that I go with him and learn all the techniques relevant to continuing with that training from the trainers themselves.

I would never dump my dogs on someone else to train. They're my dogs and their training is my responsibility.

I have no interest in sending my dogs anywhere to train.
I have no interest in my dogs going into kennels..(Tango would just be beside herself, bless, she has spent enough time kennelled in her life and Cosmo would think he had been sent to prison.)
I would not let CM touch them with a barge pole. He would destroy both of their personalities. I have yet to see him deal with a gungdog effectively and I think a FCR would just run rings round him and then he would alpha roll it and destroy it's joy for life. So...I would rather chew my own foot off slowly than leave my dog with that man.

I could just see him attempting to Alpha Roll, poke, string up etc my late Desmond he would get a surprise that would wipe the smile off his face & damage his love life. Especially as Desmond's nickname was crutch height !! Don't think a band aid would cover the damage.

FYI CM's dog do not play together naturally, throwing a ball, or a Frisbee or running behind a dominant human is not "natural"behaviour. Neither is using a paddling pool. Having had GSDs longer than CM has been alive, mine played together without any human intervention, CMs GSDs do not, they sniff each other, walk around & sleep, they certainly don't play like any GSDs I've ever met.

As he doesn't do dog training how did his pack learn to retrieve ?????? Someone must have taught them he of course doesn't do"Conditioning a dog to human commands" so how do his dogs bring the ball, Frisbee etc back if they are not conditioned to respond to human commands. Psychic powers ???? or are dogs born retrieving & need no human intervention ?

You can now train your dog CM style via your mobile phone for just £4.50 a month !!!

I never "trained" my dogs to play ball/fetch. It's something that comes naturally. A few of them wouldn't "fetch" if you offered them a bowl of chicken (and they'd do pretty much most things for chicken ). They just don't do fetch. That's fine by me, we play tug o war and other games. The idea of games/play is for fun and enjoyment. I find out what my dogs like and we work on that.
