In America there are more bite wounds from labs than from pitbulls. It's probably down to the number of labs and people getting them because they are cute puppies then not knowing how to train them etc.

The black lab I'm fostering right now is soft as anything. TBH I've never met an aggressive black lab yet, but my vet reckons that it's always labs which start fights in his surgery

Great post C&D and something that I have learnt in the past couple of years x

I wasnt calling you a bad owner. If you were you wouldnt be doing all you are doing to keep him happy. You obviously work very hard with your dog. A bad owner would have him running around in the park causing mayhem and then making up excuses. We all have to adapt to each different dog we own. Ive owned all different breeds and temperments but the key has always been know your dog and treat it accordingly. I have had dogs with nervous aggression was is very hard to deal with.
I think you are doing a brilliant job by the way badgerbay!

Hi don't think i've ever met an aggressive lab either tbh - my friends lab brings you a present when you come in the front door - his smelly blanket or toy, hes very friendly. I know when i was looking for a family dog i was recommended labs, retrievers, spaniels..........

I have to say I havnt seen that many bad labs- and i used to work in kennels- but I am a bit more wary of them since I was bitten by one when I was younger.
I have seen quite a few that are really nervous though(always black)
