Donkeys years ago we had two pups at the same time (not litter mates, but only a month apart in age ) It was unbelievable work, and at the time we weren't aware that they needed separate training and socialisation. In the end the younger pup found it very difficult to relate to her human family, although the elder was much more of a people-dog.

Clearly, as people like Tawney and Bluemerle demonstrate, it can work, but definitely with more than twice the effort as dealing with one pup.

I wouldn't get 2 pups if I didn't have the time for them but my partner works part-time and I'm in all the time so I know I have the time and attention for them both.

Thanks again everyone
What breed of pups are you getting? You must be very excited - good luck with them
